Pelican Bay

Great house- great location. Spent a week with family here and it was exactly as described. Loved the separate cottages for our adult children and the screened in porch by the dock was fabulous!!!

Pelican was the perfect place for our family retreat. We had tons of room to spread out and enjoy different activities. We loved the access to the bay, the screen porch, the pool, and the giant kitchen. The property had easy access to several beaches. The folks at Reed were super responsive when our washing machine stopped working. I would certainly stay again!

We really enjoyed it stay. Plenty of room. Kitchen fully stocked with all needs. Pier and screened in porch were or favorite spot! 9 total. 3 adult children with a plus 1. And 2 13 y.o girls. My husband and I. Pros: pool, pier, screened in patio on the bay, super clean. Main house and cottages were super charming. Large yard! Dog friendly. Cons: I think the 2 cottages could benefit from a de-humidifier. They were quite musty. We could not use the pool, a pool guy came and said it wasn't supposed to be that color and to stay out of it. So, we weren't able to do any swimming. Still highly recommend! 4 stars due to the musty smell and lack of pool use. Thank you for helping make our vacation enjoyable and memorable.

The only con for us. Pool is not heated. Water was too low to fish off the dock and parking a pontoon boat was tricky. Besides that this was a perfect house for the 9 of us. Located just far enough from the spring breakers but not to far to run to the store or dinner. VERY clean and loved the beds. Very quiet area.

We so enjoyed our stay at Pelican Bay. It offered so many options for our large family. The bungalows allowed a place of escape when you needed quiet time. Our family enjoyed the pool every day and the location was nice and quiet. The kitchen was big and allowed for multiple people to use it at once. We loved the dock and covered area by the water. We had coffee there every morning and watched sunsets nightly there. The staff at Reed Realty were quick to handle any problems we experienced which was only an internet issue and not due to them. We will definitely consider renting this property again.

It was really beautiful! Great views (a little cold) but it was AMAZING. We've never been to the area so it was fabulous! Great place to celebrate a 40th birthday bash!!

A wonderful property for a large group. There is so much space to this property that you can really spread out. The main house has a spacious kitchen at the heart of the house. It is very well stocked and had everything we could think to want or need. There are two sitting areas which provide space for the whole group to spread out to do different activities. There is also a large dining room table right off the kitchen that was perfect for playing games. The two additional cottages provide plenty of space for additional guests or families that have young ones. The pool was beautiful and had a great view of the water. The best part: it was fenced so no worries about littles ones. The deck/dock was our favorite part. The dock house is enclosed and is large. This was perfect for our group as we could keep toddlers inside but still enjoy being out over the water. The sunsets were beautiful. We enjoyed sitting here every night watching them. The beach is a short 5 or 15 minute drive away (depending on which beach you visit) and was very easy to get to. There is an outdoor shower to utilize when coming back from the beach. Overall an amazing property for large groups, especially for young families. I would not hesitate to visit this property again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Stayed at Pelican Bay for a family reunion over a long weekend and it was perfect! The property is large enough, with several bedrooms in the main house and 2 detached cottages to ensure that we all had our own space and privacy. It is centrally located that we were able to get in lots of activities such as a long beach trail hike, exploring Fort Morgan, catching the ferry to check out New Hope and Bellingrath Gardens, dinners out and plenty of beach time. Although we kept busy, my favorite part of the visit was sitting in the dock house reading a book from their extensive library or sipping a cocktail while watching the sunset. I came home so relaxed, this definitely won't be my last visit to Pelican Bay.

If you enjoy happy hour sitting in a screened dock house, overhanging the bay, watching magnificent sunsets and sea life then this is the place for you. It has a perfect well equipped kitchen large enough for everyone to gather while preparing hors d’oeuvres and dinner with locally caught fresh fish. The main house transports you to a Mediterranean villa with its clay tile floors and kitchen design. So many pluses with its cottages, one with its own complete kitchen, swimming pool, pier, screened dock house, and beaches nearby. It’s a beautiful landscaped setting for large gathering of family or friends while still feeling cozy with a few couples. We would highly recommend a stay at Pelican Bay. Cheryl and Jerry Mark

Pelican Bay is a great property for extended family or friends gathering with plenty of room for everyone. The home is well outfitted for what you may need. The very peaceful location is close to the hiking/walking spots including Fort Morgan and the wildlife preserve to provide alternatives to water activities. The dock house offers a beautiful setting for both sunsets and sunrises, happy hours or even reading.

There’s so many things about this place that we loved! The property was GORGEOUS from the landscaping, to the amazing sunsets, to the pool and pier house, which is where we spent most of our time. The house was amazing and so cozy! The kitchen has everything you can think of for cooking! There was nothing lacking! . I would highly recommend this home for your family vacations. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

This place checked all our boxes. First, it's just beautiful inside and out. The grounds are immaculate and lush, and it's all private. And best of all. unlike so many places in Gulf Shores, you only have to share the grounds with the people in your group. The indoors places are beautiful too, just as pretty as they look in the photos. There are at least four large places for groups to gather indoors, so the children could be in one living area and the adults in another or the readers in one and the card players in another. The kitchen is well furnished with everything you need to cook and serve almost anything. Second, Pelican Bay's location is so convenient: wonderful hiking/birding trails are just a mile down the road and the lovely bike/walk trail is close too (maybe 5 miles). Best of all the ocean access road is just a mile down the road and the beach is perfect, stretching for miles in both directions, with nary a high rise in sight!! The ferry to Dauphine Island is just 11 miles to your west and the grocery just 11 to the east. Eating out is easy too, with so many places to eat less than 15 miles away. There are even a few close-by! Third the dock and dock house are gorgeous and brand new. Third, the dock house is huge (dining table for at least 10, and a separate seating area for 10 as well). The views are perfect from here and the dock. We saw herons, pelicans, all sorts of other sea birds and many many dolphins! Finally, if you would rather not swim in the Bay, the pool is wonderful for cooling off and relaxing around. Plenty of seating everywhere and a separate laundry round this place out. Oh and did I mention how convenient it is to have a main building with two other lovely cottages. Privacy for an afternoon of reading and napping is always a choice. Thank you, thank you and thank you owners for this fantastic vacation spot!!

We had a great time with eleven family members. We all had plenty of room and beds to accommodate all of us. The kids really enjoyed the pool and we all spent time in the dock house so relaxing watching the water and the birds.

First of all, the beauty and character of the home is what you see right away. Stunning! The house itself has so much space. It was perfect for our large family groups, 11 people total. We were able to spread out so well with most of us in the main house, a few kids in the cottage by the pool, and another couple in house out front. This place is perfect for families but would be great for friends or family getaways. We could have spent all day everyday at the home and never be bored. The kids swam in the pool for hours and then would use the swimming dock when we weren’t fishing from it. We were surprised how shallow and calm the water remains around the property due to the location. Every morning, we would drink our coffee in the dock house and watch the sunrise and the birds. We spent many hours in there talking, having a drink, and playing games at the large table. Location! Oh my... perfect! Tucked away in a quiet, secluded area which we realized isn’t always the case. Yet this place was close to everything! We could have walked but chose to drive to a beach nearby. We were also minutes from the Fort and Ferry to Dauphin Island. There were several restaurants and shops close by in the FM area. If we wanted to get to a larger grocery store or other shops and restaurants they were only minutes away as well. We could be as secluded as we wanted or in the middle of everything in no time. The owners’ attention to detail and effort to rebuild after the recent hurricane is truly impressive. We could not have loved Pelican Bay more! Thank you Reed Properties for making this so easy.
