Gumbo One

Gumbo One is a great place. Now more so than ever. We have stayed here 4-5 times over the years and it is fantastic. Since last we've been here the new porch decking and furnishings are great improvements. I can remember years ago having to hammer in nails on the old porch wood flooring :) The pool is a huge plus also. Was what I expected but everyone so enjoyed it. Easy short steps to the beach as usual. The public access area across from the house was more crowded than I ever remember but end of July there were a lot of families. Was not a problem though as we noticed everyone left their setups in place for the following day. Didn't think you could do that. Just a great place to stay. One thing I was asked to add was it would be nice probably for some folks to have a few ice trays for the freezer. Not a problem for us but there you go. One other thing......there is a standard drip coffee maker BUT also there is a Keurig for pods. Sincerely, Rick Chambers

This house is amazing!! We’ve been coming to Fort Morgan for the past five years and have stayed in several different houses—but this one is the one. The views are absolutely stunning, and the pool was so refreshing, especially with the fun lights at night that added such a great vibe. It’s a super short walk to the beach, and the nearby public access area made for some great people-watching. The porch was incredible—perfect for relaxing—and the swings were amazing for napping in the ocean breeze. Every bed was super comfy, and a fully stocked kitchen with cookware, plates, cups, etc. We were surprised at how much we appreciated having the washer and dryer downstairs—it actually worked out great for warm towels after swimming. The house had everything we needed: pool floats, grills, and beach chairs were all available to use. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we ended up staying an extra day. It was really hard to leave this time. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation spot with everything you need, Gumbo One is it. We’ll definitely be back. See you next time!

We stayed here for several weeks this winter and were very happy and comfortable while there. Loved the central living room which had lamps for us to be able to read on cooler days. Kitchen was equipped with necessities and it had an amazing view from the front porch which had plenty of new furniture/table/swing. Beach access was half a block away. Perfect place to stay and watch the aft Morgan Mardi Gras parade. Only would request some curtains/blinds on front windows. Too cold to enjoy the pool while we were there.

We absolutely loved this house! It comfortably fit 6 of us! It was very spacious. The colors and home decor were perfect for a beach house! The beds were very comfy, it had everything we needed! The porch with all the rocking chairs and giant swing was amazing! What a way to sit and watch the ocean, which by the way was a perfect view! There were no homes blocking the awesome view. So close to beach access was great. Loved the private pool! I can not say enough good things about this home! Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful home with us we will definitely be back!!! Thank you to Reed Real Estate for making everything so easy to book!!!!

What a fabulous and peaceful time our family had at Gumbo One. This house was great with plenty of room for the 6 of us + our little fur baby. Our favorite places besides the beach were the covered porch and the private pool. Will totally miss the naps everyday on the porch swing. This was our first time staying and it will not be our last.

It is so difficult to find a slightly smaller home that has a private POOL and is this close to the beach access point. Plus, there isn't another home blocking your ocean view! So great sitting on this porch, rocking and looking right at the water. The interior is very clean; furniture is new; and the beds are comfortable. Our two young children could not love it more and they can't wait to get back.

This house was one of the best we have stayed at in the area. The kitchen had everything. The fridge worked well. The bedrooms and living areas were comfy. The TV and internet worked as good as you need at the beach. The laundry is downstairs in the storage room which had pool and beach toys and floats and there were 3 grills. The pool was clean and private. If we had to be constructive, we would say the bathrooms could be updated with more space. Other than that we had plenty of hot water and never had one issue. Being across from the ocean was the best part. We sat on the porch and watched the waves and had a great time. We thank our host and would definitely stay there again.

I am trying to think of the words to describe the time we had in this house. It is great, wonderfully located with a Amazon views. The pool is awesome loved that it is salt water. The lights in the pool change colors which is great. The underside of the house was just as much fun as the deck. The only down side (which really isn't one) was that none of the 6 of us could figure out how to work the dryer.
